Phil walks through the pain FOR the third year running, Phil Knowles put his walking shoes on and made the trek from Adelaide to Gawler, all in the name of charity. Coinciding with National Walk to Work Day on Friday, Phil's journey was the first step in a line-up of fundraising events planned for the next few months. The Gawler local - an ETSA employee - along with his support team are hoping to top the $11,000 they raised this time last year, with funds headed for Angel Flight, Habitat For Humanity,
the Heart Foundation, and the ETSA Utilities Employee Foundation. Phil's 52-kilometre `Walk
for a Reason' started at 4am at ETSA Utilities at Keswick and ended at ANZ Gawler, where he rested his blistered feet and knocked back a can of Guinness after crossing the finish line at 12.38pm. Phil was hoping to beat his 8-hour record from last year, but by the time he reached Gepps Cross and two huge blisters had formed on his feet, he realised the rest of the walk would be even tougher than expected.
