Interview with Dr Steve Hamilton, Vice President, Australian Medical Association, about National Walk to Work Day tomorrow. Hamilton says that the message is not getting through, with 61% of Australian adults overweight or obese. Hamilton says that if exercise is built into a day, people are more likely to do it. Parsons mentions research which shows that people between 30 and 50 are the people who aren't exercising enough. Hamilton agrees, and that this is an area where incidental activity will make an improvement. Parsons says that the walk has many people behind it including the Heart Foundation, Planet Arc, the Cancer Council, Diabetes Australia and Beyond Blue. © Media Monitors 2009
