PEOPLE can make a significant difference to air quality and traffic times by leaving the car at home and walking and/or catching public transport to and from work.

This Friday, October 5, is Walk to Work Day and it is aimed at better health, cleaner air, less traffic and improved transport.

Supported by the Pedestrian Council of Australia, the National Heart Foundation, RTA, NSW Health, Transport NSW, and Active Australia, Walk to Work Day is designed to promote walking as an important mode of transport and healthy activity, to reduce the reliance on the private motor vehicle, promote the use of public transport to and from work, and to improve air quality by reducing unnecessary vehicle emissions.
