Professional agitator Harold Scruby recently used this page to call for a crackdown on armoured cars flouting the road rules and parking illegally across pedestrian crossings and in No Stopping zones. Invoking the good name of the Pedestrian Council of Australia, he demanded action. Well, he's got it. On Thursday Mr Scruby had a personal meeting with NSW Roads Minister Carl Scully and Roads and Traffic Authority chief executive Ron Christie. "Both men promised immediate action. They said security companies would soon realise they too have to obey the road rules like everyone else," Mr Scruby chirruped.
