A new instruction has gone out to parking inspectors in Sydney's CBD: write tickets for armoured security vans if they park in no-stopping or no-standing zones. The open season was declared after a complaint to the traffic services branch of the NSW police by Harold Scruby of the newly formed Pedestrian Council of Australia. Security guards from Armaguard, Brambles and other firms are discussing ways around the crackdown.
