Walk to School
ALL primary school children, parents and carers are encouraged to join in and build regular walking to and from school into their daily routine. particularly on National Walk Safely to School Day held this Friday May 18.
Now in its 13th year. National Walk Safely to School Day has become a popular annual event across Australia.
The day promotes regular walking. reduced car-dependency, cleaner air. improved diets, public transport and reinforces the vital road-crossing skills children need.
This year, for the first time, participants can go online to find and plan their best walking route to school at www.walk.com.au.
All parents, careers and children are being urged by National Walk Safely to School Day organisers to put their feet first and actively participate in the event.
