Cobram kids hit the pavement for National Walk Safely to School Day
National Walk Safely to School Day promotes regular walking and reinforces vital road-crossing skills
St Joseph’s School students were some of those who participated in National Walk Safely to School Day on Friday.
The day promotes regular walking, reduced car-dependency, cleaner air, improved diets, public transport and reinforces vital road-crossing skills.
Those who could not walk to school due to distance were encouraged to walk some of the way — whether it be to their bus stop or having their parents drop them a block or two away from the school. On arriving at school the children were offered a healthy breakfast of toast, muesli bars and orange juice.
The school would like to thank Moira Shire Council for its support of the breakfast.
