Camden takes giant strides in health awareness for Walk Safely to School Day

Camden state Liberal MP Chris Patterson said Walk Safely to School Day was important for children
HUNDREDS of Camden region children will slip on their walking shoes this Friday for the annual Walk Safely to School Day.

Camden state Liberal MP Chris Patterson has visited schools across the district, including eager students at Narellan Vale Public School to encourage children to get walking.

“Walk Safely to School Day has become an important day on the school calendar in raising awareness of the importance of an active, healthy lifestyle and road safety,” Mr Patterson said.

“The national event shows how easy it is for primary school-aged children and their parents to build healthy activities into their daily program, and gives students the experience and confidence to walk in their local communities. “All these simple measures add up and help our children to keep obesity and other health problems at bay.”
