Walk this way Friday

The event, occurring this Friday, asks parents, carers and their children to build regular walks to and from school into their daily routine, because children need a minimum of 60 minutes exercise each day The nationwide event also has a Facebook page this year where schools can post photos of their event activities, such as school assemblies and healthy breakfasts.
It also encourages parents to drive less and walk more. aiming to decrease dangerous vehicle congestion around schools and reduce carbon emissions from idling cars.
If you can’t walk all the way to school, walk your child to the next bus stop away from your home.
Or, if you have to drive, park the car a few blocks away and walk the rest of the way An easy slide show designed to be presented by a primary school student is now available online at www walk.com.au.
With five colourful slides, the presentation shows why it’s fun, healthy and good for the environment to wath to school on Walk Safely tc School Day and every day
