Walk Safely To School Day

NSW Police Service Weekly

10 June 2002

Primary school students were given lessons in road safety when police visited schools on Walk Safely To School Day in April.

Youth liaison officers attended local primary schools, talked to youngsters and parents about road safety issues and told the children the importance of always holding the hand of an adult when they cross the road.

City Central YLO Cst Nicole Perry visited Ultimo Primary school with the Nickelodeon Rug Rats Chucky, Angelica and Tommy.

She and other police from the LAC caught the school bus with Ultimo Primary school students to the schools temporary site to promote the key messages of Walk Safely to School Day.
