LATER this month students will be encouraged to consider
the manner and route which they walk to school.
Friday, May 15 marks Walk Safely to School Day, a national
event organised by the Pedestrian Council ofAustralia.
Parents and carers are encouraged to walk to school with primary
school age children and reinforce safe pedestrian behavi ur.
The day also promotes the health benefits of walking and
helps create regular walking habits at an early age, not to
mention reduces the level of air pollution created by motor
