STEP out for Walk to Work Day tomorrow and change your life for the better, Cancer Council SA says.
This year is the first time Cancer Council SA has teamed up with the Pedestrian Council of Australia for the annual event, which raises awareness of healthy lifestyles.
Breast cancer survivor Teresa Mitchell, 37, from Flagstaff Hill, is training for the New York City Marathon.
"With a few healthy lifestyle changes, I am empowered by my ability to do whatever I set my mind to and prevent the cancer from coming back," she said.
Regular walking, as part of a healthy lifestyle, can reduce the risk of getting cancer, says Cancer Council SA chief executive Brenda Wilson.
