Centre staff, who have been taking part in the event for several years, aim to foster a healthy, active workplace.
Organiser and health promotion co-ordinator Bernadette Hetherington said workers at the centre had been very receptive to the initiative. Even those who usually drove to work would walk some of the way.
She said more people in Sunbury were walking now that bike paths and walking tracks were well established.
"I think in general, though, everyone still needs to improve fitness.
"We do have anecdotal evidence that Sunbury people are generally over their healthy weight range [and there are] many who are not even aware that they are."
The centre is offering breakfast for a gold-coin donation for anyone walking past its Macedon Street site on Friday.
