Walking to work to raise funds

DID you know that people who walk regularly are more productive and less likely to be absent or take sick leave?

That’s why, on Friday September 16, organisations and their employees are stepping up and walking out with the launch of Cancer Council Walk to Work Day.

Cancer Council Walk to Work Day encourages organisations to support their employees and build regular walking into their daily routine.

By registering as a Walking Workplace, organisations of all sizes will receive free information, support and ideas on how they can make walking work in their workplace.

Registration is free and those who register will go into a draw to win prizes.

For the first time Walk to Work Day will be actively raising funds for Cancer Council.

On registration, individuals and workplaces are given the opportunity to build a fundraising page where they can raise funds for Cancer Council just for walking to work on September 16.

There are also opportunities for employers to support the efforts of their staff by matching their fundraising efforts dollar for dollar, or by donating to the Cancer Council.

Visit www.walk.com.au to register as a Walking Workplace and start fundraising today.
