Workers and workplaces across the nation will participate in Walk to Work Day -Friday 1 October 2010.
Now in its twelfth year, Walk to Work Day helps workplaces to support their employees to include regular walking in their daily routine.
If you are unable to walk to work, take the opportunity to use public transport, or walk even part of the way to work.
Organisations are being encouraged to register a Walking Workplace. Plus there are great prizes to be won by individual participants.
Walking is a free and easy way to improve health and reduce our carbon footprint.
For heart health, the Heart Foundation recommends 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on all or most days of the week.
