Walk to Work Day - Friday 1 October

Here's what you need to know...About the Walk to Work

Walking is

Improve your health - manage your weight.

Trim your carbon footprint.

Walking can ensure you are more alert and more productive at work.

Ease the feeling of depression and anxiety.

Register as an individual or workplace

National Walk to Work day is an annual event being held on Friday 1 October.

This year, individuals can Pledge to Put their Feet First and win:

One of two walking holidays - donated by wotif.com.

Pair of Rockport Shoes valued at $250.

Organisations and business's are encouraged to register as a Walking Workplace.

How does it work?

The basic idea behind Walk to Work is to get people thinking about alternative transport. You can park and walk to work or walk to work and catch the bus home.

Park and walk - It takes 10 mins from Highway (KFC) to walk to the Civic Green.
