Registrations Open 1 July 2012
Now in its 14th year, Cancer Council Walk to Work Day on Friday 28 September, 2012 encourages organisations to support their employees and build regular walking into their daily routine.
Did you know that people who walk often are more productive and are less likely to be absent or take sick-leave? Regular walking can also help relieve feelings of depression or anxiety. And it improves our environment by reducing car dependency.
So, step into Spring, put your feet first and register on 1 July 2012 at to take part in
Cancer Council Walk to Work Day.
You can also show your support by setting up a fundraising page or making a donation to Cancer Council. Once registered, you will be prompted should you wish to participate in fundraising for Cancer Council. All fundraising activities are optional.
It's so easy to participate:
  • If you can't walk all the way, use public transport and get off the bus, train, tram or ferry a few stops early and walk the rest of your journey
  • If you must drive, leave the car at least a kilometre from your destination and walk the rest of the way.
  • Take a half-hour walk at lunchtime and where possible, use the stairs.
  • If you are required to sit a lot at work, get up and walk around at least once every hour.
