Prince Charles - (QUOTE):
"The whole of the 20th century has always put the car at the centre. So by putting the pedestrian first, you create these liveable places I think, with more attraction and interest and character ... liveability."

FOI: Report on Taxis
Comment:  In NSW, nearly all Councils turn their collective blind eyes to the potentially lethal behaviour of taxi drivers who risk the lives and limbs of all road users and their passengers with gay abandon, virtually immune from prosecution.

Councils pay nothing towards the costs of road trauma (over $8 billion per annum in NSW) and therefore commerce always wins over road safety.  Read the FoIs and decide whether you believe the data or the spurious, robotic denials by un-named “spokespersons” from these Councils and the Taxi Council.  All Rangers have to do is take a photo and post the offence.  They do this for thousands of offences each year.  But somehow they just can’t see taxis.

And with over 1,000 full-time Highway Patrol officers, NSW Police have booked an average of 1.5 taxis each in the last 5 years.

When is someone in authority going to stand up and demand an independent inquiry into this scandalous rort?
