6PR (Perth) Morning - 23/04/2007 - 09:13 AM Simon Beaumont Producer Mr Kim Hutchinson 08 9220 1400
This morning, John McRoberts, Assistant Police Commissioner is concerned about kids returning to school, and he is at a special launch at Alinjarra Primary School to try and remind people that children and parents are back on the road in the next couple days, and to be very careful around school facilities. McRoberts explains it is a new program launched by the Heart Foundation and Pedestrian Council designed to encourage kids and their parents to either cycle to school or walk to school. At Alinjarra Primary School alone, McRoberts says on one street, police have issued this morning 21 infringements to people speeding through the school zone. Beaumont concludes his talk with McRoberts by revealing McRoberts and the police's support involved with 6PR's Road Safety Forum next week, live at the Subiaco Art Centre. © Media Monitors 2007
